PRP 45 - Stormwater Quality Improvement Program

Licence Condition
The licensee must implement the following stormwater infrastructure improvement works, outlined in the report titled "Orica Kooragang Island Stormwater Quality Investigation Report" dated 24 September 2015, aimed at reducing total suspended solids concentrations in stormwater discharging the following areas. (a) Catchment 3 (Discharging via Point 12): First Street (Option 3) and First Avenue. (b) Catchment 4 (Discharging via Point 13): Sixth Avenue (Option 6) and Second Street (Option 7). (c) Catchment 5 (Discharging via Point 14): Third Street (Option 11). Upon completion of the works, the licensee must provide written notification to the EPA's Director - Hunter at PO Box 488G, Newcastle NSW 2300, or by email to hunter.region@epa.nsw.gov.au. Date for completion: 31 December 2016.
Following the completion of the above stormwater infrastructure improvement works, the licensee must undertake a review of the results from the existing stormwater monitoring program to establish the effectiveness in reducing total suspended solids being discharged via stormwater. A report detailing the review must be submitted to the EPA's Director - Hunter at PO Box 488G, Newcastle NSW 2300, or by email to hunter.region@epa.nsw.gov.au. Date for completion: 30 September 2017.
The licensee must undertake an investigation to identify potential sources that contribute to nutrient concentrations in stormwater discharges from the premises. The investigation must also identify and prioritise measures to reduce nutrient concentrations discharging the premises in via stormwater via Points 10 to 15. A report detailing the investigation, its findings and recommendations must be submitted to the EPA's Director - Hunter at PO Box 488G, Newcastle NSW 2300, or by email to hunter.region@epa.nsw.gov.au. Date for completion: 30 September 2017.
